With open arms.. "Welcome!"

A few events to welcome hehe..
(Yes, I realise the hour is atrocious too. But I'm pledging partial insomnia hehe.. Fine, FINE. I'm off to bed after this post. I promise!!)

Firstly, I welcome (or rather, welcomed) the long weekend due to Hari Krismas. And I took Tuesday off - so it really WAS a long weekend for me!
No, I didn't go on any short vacation. I stayed at home and did a lot of catching up on the beauty sleep.

Didn't even catch any movies last weekend - although I must say after the 3-movie marathon that Lene & I had last week's Wednesday, I'm taking a short break.

(OK, digress sikit nak cerita pasal movies..
1. Aeonflux: Not bad. Although the jigsaw pieces only fit towards the end hehe.. Mula-mula a bit boring 'cause we didn't know what was going on.
2. The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe: Had really high expectations after seeing LOTs of promotions. The story is quite simple. Some really nice cinematography. Ending was a bit abrupt laa.. Tiba-tiba je dah habis. Hehe.. But all in all, it was an enjoyable movie.
3. King Kong: Err.. nice cinematography. Storyline? I didn't like it AT ALL! Plus some kids at the seats behind us were eating non-stop. OMG.. I think kids wouldn't enjoy this movie becoz (a) it's too long (bloody 3 hours ++ !) (b) not all of them would get the movie...
Hmm, my verdict: BORING! Rugi je RM8. I wish I had watched something else that day.

Hehe.. ok laa.. back to my post :P )

Second thing to welcome:
Sheils back from NYC!! Welcome home.. Miss you girl! (((hugs!)))

My closest friends would know this: I'm not one who expect souvenirs. You know, from anyone who goes off on a holiday, especially to foreign places.
So, eventhough I've known wayyyyyy in advanced of her trip to NYC, I didn't exactly expect any souvenirs from Sheils. Neither did I kirim for her to buy me anything while she was there.
Err, that being out in the open, that NEVER means I'll refuse any sweet momentos from anyone who remembers to buy something for me, tau!
:)) Jangan salah faham ye? Hehehe..

Thirdly:
I'm welcoming this weekend, as on 31st Dec (Saturday), I'm meeting up with The Girls, plus a sleepover at Rina's place (Erks!! Tak beli lagi ingredients for the baked macaroni. OK, esok MESTI pergi grocery shopping).
Their beloved faces would be the last things I see in 2005, and the first things in front of me, come 12.01 midnight 1st Jan'06.

Now that's a great start to a new year!

And last, but never least...
Welcome to the New Year 2006. May the dawn of 1st January brings along fresh hopes and many beautiful things to look forward too :))

(Hmm, I'm thinking of catching Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire on Monday 2nd Jan'06 laa.. I think only available at GSC Cinemas. TGV is no longer running this movie. Hmm... Should I go to Mid Valley? Hmmm....)

At a friend's wedding, recently

As promised, I'm posting a photo taken at FR's wedding, about a couple weeks ago in Ipoh.

It was a lovely surprise to see some old friends at the wedding. Tapi tak sempat nak bergambar dengan everyone.. We had to make do with mana yang ada laa.

Rozy, remember my friend's comment that I share with you the other day..?
Hehe.. I still remember it whenever I look at this photo.

How it came about

Someone asked me: "Why 'bluekoala'? Don't you always use 'yammster' for everything?"
Haha, very funny.. I told my friend..

But that got me thinking too: how DID I come to use the name 'bluekoala' for this blog?

The best I could come up with, is this..

YamKoala Posted by Picasa

It was the trip to Brisbane (well, the money was actually for a London trip.. which was postponed indefinitely).
I was there with Sheils, an overdue holiday. Well, for her it's partly work as she had to attend a 2-day seminar hehe..

I remember loving the visit to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary..

And I also remember Sheils saying this: "Mi, koala tu macam tenung kau dengan penuh kasih sayang!"
LOLs..!!

Anyway, the original picture is in full colour - I was wearing a blue denim shirt and holding that koala.

Hmm.. maybe that's really how it came about... :P
(To cousin eRz: yeah, this post should've answered your question too. LOLs..!)

Oh yeah.. since Id dah give consent letak gambar at FR's wedding.. hehe, expect it soon!

Weekend of wedding bells

In an hour's time I'm attending a kenduri tunang of a school friend. Who also happens to be a sort-of-neighbour (we live in the same housing area). Who also works at the same company as I do.. Hehe..

To Linda, my doa is with you. Semoga segalanya berjalan lancar.
Jangan lupa jemput aku gi wedding kau :P

(Alamak! Have to confirm with Ta and Joy and Along and Rock. OK gotta make some calls after this..)

* * *

And tomorrow.. I'm attending a friend's wedding somewhere in Sunway. When Sheils and I went to Brisbane in 2003, he and his girlfriend (well, now she's the wife already la hehe..) were really nice and took us both around Brisbane / Gold Coast.

I'm so happy for the two of them. Perhaps we'll be seeing the little one(s) soon eh? ;-))

Oh yah. Must call Darls tonight. I'm attending the wedding with her, since Sheils is at this moment on a flight to land of FRIENDS. Hehe..

Sheils if you're reading this, enjoy Central Park hunny! Take lots of photos and show us when you're back in Malaysia!

Happy weekend people!

I went ahead and...

... embarrassed myself recently (I still turn red thinking about it..)

Was on IM with a friend. I wanted to suggest a quick lunch, after which we can go our separate ways (I had another appointment somewhere).

Instead it came out to be something like: "Can we have a quickie and then go our own ways..?"

And of course he - even as busy as he was - immediately zeroed in on the word "quickie".
He must have had a field day laughing at me hehe..

Uhukss.. Malu giler..

I really meant to say quick lunch lah - after all that was the topic we were discussing about.

I don't even know how the word 'quickie' suddenly popped out.
Honest!

Off to Ipoh..

Well, not today though.
Today I'm having lunch with a dear someone, then off to my facial appointment.

Tomorrow morning I'm heading to Ipoh, with Id. Err, at least I think it's Ipoh LOLs.. Or somewhere in that area. (Id, I must warn you, I'm NOT the best co-pilot tau! Hahaha.. now I wonder if we'll ever reach that place!)

One of our former classmates is having his kenduri kahwin at his hometown. The last time I saw him, he was still unattached (or so he said laa). Then during Raya month he asked for everyone's addresses, konon-konon nak datang beraya.
Well, I'll give you three chance to guess: who went ahead and believed him and gave out her home address..

:(
Yeah yeah, I do NOT take hints well. Normally I'll just be all confused or just plain ignore these hints.
Just be direct please. Thank you.

Ooh.. my lunch errr appointment is cancelled. My friend had to work extra hard lately.. kesian dia.
Hmm, looks like I'll be grabbing a bite to eat.. maybe somewhere in Sogo kot. Or maybe I should makan at Secret Recipe across the road nih. Hmm...

By the way, enjoy your weekend :))

Catching up on stuff..

It's almost the end of Wednesday, and I know I'm guilty of not being a good girl and update this blog. Hehe..
Sorry, have been wayyy too busy since I came back from Singapore, both at work and at home.

I know I've been tagged by Arin's post. Uhuks.. I'll get around to doing it kay dear? Hehe.. About food pulak tuh! Cam tau-tau jer I just had food fest in Singapore. Kekekkekek...
(Eh BTW, I still don't get this word 'meme'. What does it mean exactly?)

My Singapore trip.. well it was amazing. Eventhough I only managed to meet up with a few relatives, I totally enjoyed myself.
To list everyone's name here would take ages hehe.. But thank you very very very very much for taking me around. For pampering me hehe.. and for treating me to very nice meals. I kinda told Mak Abah that I think I've put on weight while I was in Singapore. And I was there for only a little more than 2 days! LOLs..

This trip made me realise that I haven't visited some of my relatives for quite some time. Considering I have so many nenek-saudara and uncles and aunties and cousins and nieces and nephews in Singapore, I think I only met up with about 20% of around 90-odd relatives I have there (hmm, I strongly believe it's more 90-odd hehe)

Did a lot of catching up with the relatives, but I wished I could've stayed there longer.

InsyaAllah I'll be making another trip down south. Soon :-))

Talking about catching up, Sheils is here tonight, sleeping over at my place. She told me it's to make up for missing the open house the other day hehe..

It's been quite a while since I last spend some time with her alone. And I must say tonight's a good catching up session with Sheils. I really appreciate this private outing

And yes Sheils, 1 day is not enough lah. We must do this again soon.
(Hahaha.. I remember us saying something along this line masa kat Brisbane Hilton. And hunny, that was in August 2003! Adoi.. how sad is that? Don't tell me we must wait another 2 years?? :P )

Food fest in Singapore

Hehehe..
Jangan lah jealous membaca the title of this post ;)

Yes, I'm in Singapore right now. Currently somewhere in Pasir Ris. I've been here since Saturday eve.

Cik Din did warn me that my visit to Singapore will be a 'food fest'. Well, a food fest it was (and will still be, tomorrow :P). I've had murtabak, chicken briyani, rojak, chicken rice, fried chicken wings, fried samosa, satay. Don't get me started on the drinks I've had! Hmm, kalau la ada appointment with the doc next week, I'll definitely fail every single test! LOL..

OMG.. banyak nya makan!! And my stay's not over yet! My flight back to KL leaves Changi Airport tomorrow afternoon. I think tomorrow morning I'm still gonna indulge myself with more delicious food hehe..

I've been making my Raya visits - unfortunately, as always, I'll never be able to cover everyone's house. That's one thing sad about my time here: it's never enough!

* * *

I still have 3 days of my annual leave to clear off by end of 2005. Hmm, wonder if I'll be making another trip down south.

I've got less than 24 hours left here in Singapore, and I still haven't met a few relatives. Which means, I'll be quite occupied tomorrow.
Plus I'll be catching a movie with 2 of my cousins here: Harry Potter movie (please do not puke, I don't have any buckets to offer you... LOLs..!). One of them suggested "The Exorcism of Emily Rose". TAKMO!! Nanti I'll be having nightmare tau!

* * *

Eh, what to buy from Singapore? So far I've only used S$10.00 hahahaha!!
