Salam Eidul Fitri

I'm already on Raya leave!
Alhamdulillah the work thingy was settled yesterday.. So.. without much thought I'm starting my leave on Saturday (today lah tu.. hehe)

Last week Al asked me: "When are you going on leave?". When I told him "Friday", his reaction was something along the line of "That's 6 days before Raya. Whatcha gonna do?"
Hehe.. basically.. I'm taking things easy..

* * *

Today:
(1) Helped Mak buat kuih tat nenas. I think we'll make it again on Monday la. Just now we didn't have enough pineapple jam for the dough that Mak prepared. I think Mak will cook the pineapple jam tomorrow. Or Monday. Tak sure lah.

Yummyyyy kuih tat!  Posted by Picasa

(2) Wiped the book cabinets (itupun tak habis lagi, 2 more cabinets to finish up - will do it tomorrow, Mak. I promise hehehe) plus err making sure the books themselves are not dusty.

I'm done with the middle one jer (plus the 2 CD towers laa..)  Posted by Picasa

(3) Buka puasa with the schoolgirls again. Hehe.. this time, met up with Yus & family, who just came back (well, she's home for the Raya holiday) from US. Also this round, Yen & family managed to join us! Alhamdulillah, she's looking good. Hehe, no more errr 'afternoon' sickness, I hope. (Hmm, let's see if I can post some photos.. maybe in the next few days eh?)

* * *

Hmm.. tomorrow? Abah wanted to go to Ikea. Might tag along laa. LOLs.. I'm thinking of getting some new quilt-sets laa.. for Raya maybe..? ;P
Plus, InsyaAllah I'm having buka puasa with the A-Level friends. Most probably in KLCC. Hmm.. must remember to call or SMS Id tomorrow noon.

* * *

Monday.. I think I have a facial appointment. Should be done by 1.30pm. Ahh.. plenty time to get a look at the offerings around Jalan TAR then. Hehe...
Just hope I don't go on a shopping-binge laa. Koyak poket nanti!

* * *

Tuesday would be just nice to start preparing for Raya food. Hehe.. maybe will start anyam some sarung ketupat (for both ketupat nasi, and ketupat daun palas). And get the onions / shallots / garlic / ginger / etc ready.. Senang nak masak on Wednesday nanti.

* * *

Wow.. quite a number of things to be done, eih? InsyaAllah sempat lah :))

So, I'm taking this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy and blessed Eidul Fitri.
Enjoy your Raya.
And stay safe, no matter where you're celebrating this auspicious day.

Plans gone haywire

Today was supposed to be my last day at work, before the long Hari Raya break.

Unfortunately, I'm still here at the office, with some work still unfinished.
(Time now is 7.15pm, and I just had my buka puasa meal consisting of 1 mug of cool water and 1 piece of Oreo.)

Hmm.. looks like I'll have to cancel my leave tomorrow and come back to work. Gotta settle these few pages of reports - it's the quarterly thing.

*sigh*
I guess that means I'll have to forget my plans to lie in bed at 9am.

Alamak! If I'm at work tomorrow, that means I'll have to cancel my facial appointment too.

Argghhhhhhhhhhh!!!

*OK, breathe. In... Out...*

Hmm... looking at the bright side, tomorrow I'll be able to get my order of Macadamia choc from one friend here. Hehehhehe...

Now.. that's something definitely sweet to look forward to!
(Eh, Mr Nun. Want some? You kena datang raya my house, baru boleh kasi sikit! :P )

Buka puasa gathering @ Nelayan Titiwangsa

Hmm.. we were loud.
Laughing, talking, eating, catching up, snapping photos.. busy with the steamboat (with "Aku nak udang!" and "Aku nak ketam!") and food and drinks and kuih raya samples..

Eventhough we've said goodbye to secondary school life 11 years ago, it seemed like our teenage years were not too long ago..

Date: Monday 17th Oct 2005

Yes, we DID have a teh tarik session right after the buka puasa at Nelayan Titiwangsa. And yours truly here even had some maggi goreng! (Hmm, and I thought I already ate A LOTTT masa kat Nelayan! Hehehehe, no wonder some had surprise looks on their faces when I ordered maggi goreng at the mamak restaurant!)

All in all.. it was definitely a blast that night. Hopefully we'll have more of such get-togethers in the future, yeah?

(OK Ta, we're supposed to have another buka puasa when our friend from US comes back, right? PLEASE confirm cecepat. hehe.. If it's this weekend, let me know! Boleh ler aku arrange transport ku hehe..)

Blog neglected.. ish..

Err.. I think I've been neglecting this blog for a while dah.. Sorry sorry.

Lame as it may sound, I have been busy with the monthly reporting. Plus additional reports due each quarter. So... I'm blaming it on err.. hehehehe

Last weekend was filled with plenty good times!
Saturday 15th Oct was buka puasa gathering (pot luck, of course!) with The Girls. We had it at Mel's place. BEST sangat! Hehe.. lots of food (trust me, everyone was soooo silent - enjoying themselves.. LOLs..). Murn dropped a surprise! She ordered a Secret Recipe's Oreo Cheesecake to be delivered to Mel's house - for our desserts! It was soooooo yummy...!

* * *

Sunday 16th Oct was buka puasa gathering at home. Came back from Mel's place around noon Sunday (hehe.. slept at Mel's place on Saturday night, plus bersahur together!), and helped Mak with cooking: Gulai ikan dengan peria, fried chicken wings, gulai pucuk ubi dengan telur, petai goreng dengan ikan bilis + cili api.
Then, started with the Roti Kentang.

Hehe.. yes, we made roti kentang. Unfortunately, they were snapped up so fast, I didn't even have time to take any photos to show you guys. Hehe.. sorry laa.. next time I'm making them (OMG, ntah2 next year!), I'll try to take some pics hehe..

* * *

Monday 17th Oct was buka puasa gathering with the schoolgirls. We had it at Nelayan Titiwangsa - a buffet + steamboat. Havoc! LOLs.. We were wayyy loud for a bunch of girls! Hehehe..
Oh yeah, will be posting some photos soon on this gathering @ Titiwangsa.

This gathering allowed me to be a bit nostalgic.. Schooldays were fun, I tell you.. But somehow when I was experiencing those days, all I could wish for was for them to be over. Macam tak sabar-sabar nak grow up and go out into the 'real world'.
Little did I realise that those schooldays were part of the real world that I wanted badly.

* * *

I think I'll be having 2 more buka puasa gathering coming my way. OMG! Do I even have the time?! LOLs.. Better make arrangement quickly, it's almost the end of Ramadhan!

"Decribe me in ONE WORD, just one!"

Sheils sent me a very interesting SMS yesterday:
"Describe me in ONE WORD, just one! Send it to me then send this msg to 10 friends & see how many wonderful / strange things people think about u! Do reply... it's fun!"

Ooh la laaa.. FUN indeed!!

I sent out to a number of people (hahaha, more than 10, definitely!).. and some of the replies I got back were indeed strange :P

In no particular order, this is what I found out about me...:
- nice
- worthy
- sweet
- cute
- yummy (I'm still waiting for that someone to explain what he meant by this. KIV until after Raya ;D)
- funny
- horny (from an even hornier person. Aiyoh what did this person see in me that prompted this description, I wonder :P)
- bubbly
- cheerful
- un-sangka-able (this from my dear Uncle.. hahaha!)
- chocfudge (like the biscuit, kejap ada kejap takde. LOLs!)

The most interesting definition I got was "YAMM".
So I asked her, what is that supposed to mean?
Replied: "Everything and undefineable."
Hehhehe...

* * *

So.. I'm passing this torch to you who's reading this:
"Describe me in ONE WORD, just one!" (OK, OK. I know most of you have never met me personally.. but what the heck. Just go ahead and describe la... :D )

And then.. go ahead and spread this around. SMS pun boleh (actually SMS is more fun I think), email also can. Hehe.. Or be like me, use your blog!

You'll be grinning away the whole day, I tell you!

First weekend of Ramadhan

First weekend of Ramadhan came and went without much to highlight. Yesterday was a working Saturday, and I practically had to drag myself out of the house. Hehe..
I wonder if they are ever going to grant Saturdays off at my workplace.

Sort of made plan to have late, late supper with a friend last night (Saturday). He said he was to call me if 'jadi', so I didn't worry much when I dozed off around 9pm++
Woke up around 12.30midnight to see his SMS, saying he had to cancel supper (eh, cancel ke postpone? :P).

Today, hmm.. basuh curtains. LOLs..
Which reminds me, another set of curtains need to be sent to the laundry. I think I'll wait for the curtains washed today to be nicely crisp and dry before taking down the other set.

* * *

I have to reserve a weekend for buka puasa with the extended family (i.e Mak Ton & her family, Uncle Sam, Uncle Ed, and maybe Mak Teh & family, also Keir).

Next weekend, Saturday the 15th I've been booked with The Girls. Plus a sleepover. And maybe 16th I'll be breaking fast with Joy, Ta, Along and a bunch of the secondary schoolgirls, some I haven't seen since I was 18. OMG.. that's ages ago. Wonder how they look like now...

Ehh, I only have 2 weekends left before Raya comes along.
Alamak! Bila mau buat ni? Hmm..

* * *

I think I'll suggest Saturday 22nd to Mak Abah la. Or maybe that Sunday 23rd. I know we'll soon need to make the annual "Roti Kentang" hehe.. Abah has been asking for it since the first of Ramadhan.

More than just talking

I'm not a very good conversationalist.

I know I express myself better through writing, rather than verbally. When hanging out with friends, I'd rarely be the one telling the stories - more likely I'll be the one listening to everyone else's updates. When it comes to my turn to open my mouth, trust me it's gonna be a very brief session :P

Which probably explains why I'm more comfortable with non-verbal medium of communications..
Instant Messaging, be it at home (faithful YM), or at work (MSN Messenger. I think Anne must be grinning reading this hehe)..
And SMS (yes, my phone bills can bear witness - my SMS charges normally exceed my calls.. hmm always more than 600 SMS's sent every month.. and these are not busy months like Puasa or Raya time. Hmm.. who do I send SMS's to ek? I wonder...)
And of course emails..
And yes, now my blog hehe..

I remember many times in Newcastle, I would be at home using the PC. Erm, and of course get online too. Sheila would be at the University, working + being online.

And we would chat through IRC. Non stop..!
As if lah we don't talk enough at home LOLs..
She would tell me about the people she sees in the computer lab. I would ramble on about what's on TV. Or whatever else that crosses our minds.

Abah found this out when he was there (Abah, Mak & Ya came to Newcastle to attend my graduation, sometime in July 1999).
Until today Abah still expresses his disbelief: "Yam kat rumah. Sheila kat Uni. You're both housemates. And YET you two still chat online with each other. Why can't you just borak-borak at home?"

Hahahah.. I still don't know how to answer that. Most of the times I'd go: "It's not the same, Bah.."

* * *

I've been using this blog to express myself. To share the stories of my life. To let out my thoughts, and experiences, and feelings. Lepas tension pun banyak gak. :P

Mel recently agreed that I do write better than I talk - and sometimes that could cause herself (and the other Girls too) to not quite understand what's actually going on with me. Well, unless they read the blog, that is. Hehehhe.. even then, I know sometimes the posts here pun can be rather vague. Would rather not to letak names here, eh?

At work, sometimes even at the most busiest, I'd be tempted to send IM to Anne. Or Jikin. Or Al. Or BK. Hahaha.. If 2-3 days go by without me "talking" to either Anne, BK or Al, it's gonna feel weird.
Earlier today, Anne had to "listen" to me rambling on and on about someone frustrating. (Hiihih.. TQ! I owe you big time..)
Thank goodness for these conversations. They keep me sane!

I think last time when Shars was around, we used to email each other A LOT - especially when we're pissed off with some people around here. And, she used to sit just next to me! Hahhahahaha...!!

Yeah yeah, I'm a gone case.. LOLs!

* * *

Anyway, I need to brush up my conversation skills, I think. How lah to get through a date if I mostly keep quiet, and let him do most of the talking?

Errr.. not that I'm going on a date anytime soon....
