Scrumptious dinner tonight!

Yes I know it's rather the sinfully late hour to work.

But I'm waiting for my parents to fetch me.
Cik Din's in town, and he's treating us dinner tonight. And knowing that place, I know it's gonna be a delicious treat!

I'm salivating, just trying to imagining what I'm gonna eat tonight. I think I'll definitely go for the crispy baked potato skin.
Yummmmyyyyy!

(OK tummy, not too loud. You don't want to embarrass yourself now, do you? :P)

I've just finished watching..

...the movie Notting Hill.

OMG.. this brings back wayyyy too much memories.
I love most of the songs featured in this movie's soundtrack..

(1) You've Got A Way - by Shania Twain

"You've got a way with me.. Somehow you got me to believe.. In everything that I could be.. I gotta say.. You really got a way.."

(2) Ain't No Sunshine - by Bill Withers (I think he's the original singer la. Pls pls do correct me if I'm wrong hehe)

"Ain't no sunshine when she's gone... It's not warm when she's away.. Ain't no sunshine when she's gone, And she's always gone too long anytime she goes away..."

(3) From The Heart - by Another Level

"I know you've heard these words a hundred other times before.. And you've been hurt and so you heart has chose to close the door.. Love broke your heart and brought you lies...

* * *

That's it.
I'm buying the soundtrack CD. Very, very soon!!

Listening to..

.. songs from the late 90's.
Apasal aku nostalgik mode pulak ni?

* * *

(1) In Our Lifetime by Texas

(2) I Don't Ever Want To See You Again by Uncle Sam

(3) All Cried Out by Allure (& 112)

(4) I Still Believe by Mariah Carey

(5) Have You Ever by Brandy

* * *

I think all these songs were mostly aired when I was in Newcastle.

Adoi, don't tell me next song in line is "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer! LOLs.. that song is more suitable for a chirpy, perky mood. And, based on the list of songs above, I don't think so "chirpy" is the best word to describe the current mood :P

(Hmm.. where is that Kiss Me single's CD, I wonder...)

English - as broken as it gets..

Ni brief one je..

I attended a briefing this morning, and I couldn't get some of what the speaker said out of my head..

"Are you understand what I'm telling?"

"It depend on what they wants..."

"You needs to understand in order to..."

She definitely had me stifling my barks of laughter in that auditorium.

I'm not saying my English is perfect, but well... I don't think you'll hear me say "You likes this dress?"

* * *

These "fine" English reminded me of the "Hello Kitty" ads plastered on several Putra LRT trains. Here's their tagline:
"Celebrating 30 years of cute"

What the...???
30 years of cute? Macam ayat tergantung je...

Imagine me telling you.. "Thank you for your kind"
(OMG, if someone tells that to me, I swear I'm gonna start wondering if I'm an alien or something...)

* * *

In view of the above, I'm going to quote a certain songstress of Malaysia:
"Thanks you."

[p.s: I'm sure you've had your fair share of broken English ... ;-)) ]

"Belalang.. oooo Belalang.."

I've watched most of Allahyarham P.Ramlee's movies (starred in, directed). And quite a number of them I've seen more than a dozen times.

So.. when I watched the movie Nujum Pak Belalang earlier, I actually knew what's coming next. The next scene, the joke that's coming, the punchline, even the song!

And yet I still laugh as if I've never watched Nujum Pak Belalang before.

Dammit I'm even grinning silly now, while remembering this scene inside the cave where the thieves (played by Aziz Sattar & S.Samsuddin) were trying to divide, equally of course, the err coins they stole from the Sultan's palace.
Part of the scene went something like this (my apologies if there's any reader who cannot understand Malay language - I'm being extremely lazy to translate. Besides, I'd think the joke would be lost in translation hehehehe..)

Sudin: Satu untuk kau, satu untuk aku. Dua untuk kau, dua untuk aku. Tiga untuk kau, tiga untuk aku... Eh lepas tiga apa?
Ajis: Hentam sajalah.
Sudin: 'Hentam sajalah' untuk kau, 'hentam sajalah' untuk aku... Lepas 'hentam sajalah'?
Ajis: Bedal-lah
Ajis: Kepala hotak kau!
Sudin: 'Kepala hotak kau' untuk kau. 'Kepala hotak aku' untuk aku..
Ajis: Ihh..
Sudin: 'Ihh' untuk kau. 'Ihh' untuk aku.

* * *

OMG!! Kelakar giler that scene!
Everytime I think about it I will grin like an idiot. LOLs..

And I bet I'm not the only one reacting this way!

I think..

...my body's in an entirely different timezone.

Came back from work around maghrib.
Fell asleep around 9pm. Woke up at midnight.

It's close to 4am now, and I cannot sleep, eventhough I'm feeling very tired.

And to make things worse, it's a working Saturday tomorrow.

Arghhhhhhhhh!!

* * *

I don't know who Mak is expecting tomorrow (err, I mean, today) & Sunday, but I saw her already finished with a batch of Rendang Daging.
Hehehhe..

Ritzz's open house is on Saturday. And MakTon's is on Sunday (well, coupled with birthday celebrations for Feeqa, Aush & MakTon).

Well, even if there were no guests coming around to 'beraya' at our house, I know I'll be having good food for these next couple of days.

Hoping you'll enjoy your weekend :)

Raya came, Raya went..

I had a blast of a Raya. Although it was definitely tiring (hmm, I think age is fast catching up laa.. hehe..), I had plenty of good times. Good food (OMG.. food was amazing!), good talks, good laughs, good shows on TV, good catching-up sessions with relatives.. lots and lots of good stuff laa..

* * *

The night (or rather, couple of nights) before raya, I was sending Raya wishes to almost everyone on my mobile phonebook. Which means, if you didn't get one.. either (1) I don't have your number. Or (2) The traffic was all jammed up - hahaha! everyone was trying to send SMS's wishing selamat hari raya!
(I said almost everyone.. coz not all entries were those of mobile phone numbers la. Plus, some are not celebrating Eid Mubarak! How lah to send wishes to them?! :P)

I did get an SMS I didn't feel I was supposed to reply to. Or even acknowledge. Hmm.. did I actually acknowledge it? If I did, I must've lost my mind at that moment.
Anyway, nice of the person to wish me Selamat Hari Raya. Unfortunately, even during this holy month and auspicious day, I didn't have to heart to wish anything good for her. Yeah, I know it's bad of me. But I just didn't feel like it was worth it.

Ooh.. now that I think about it.. there were actually a couple SMS's of this sort.. Hmm..

BTW, talking about SMS's.. when I sent out the Hari Raya wishes, I wasn't expecting anyone to reply lah. It was just me wanting to send those wishes. I must say, some friends / relatives did send back some form of reply hehe.. most of which made me smile.

Although... there was one particular reply that almost made me want to swear off men forever! Arghhhhhh!!

Erm, hello?!
I said "almost". ALMOST! :P

* * *

All in all, it was a good Raya, albeit being slightly calmer (read: quieter) than last year's celebration. Unfortunately, we didn't get to take Raya pictures (and I really wanted to take one of the whole family.. takper, insyaAllah another time lah).. so, I don't think so I'll be posting any pics of me in my baju Raya *sigh*

Let's hope during the open house I'll be able to snap some shots.

* * *

Selamat Hari Raya people. It's a month-long celebration!
(Alamak.. there goes the diet plan!)
